Welcome to Chains to Life Ministries, where we are committed to bringing hope, healing, and transformation to the people of Vanuatu. Nestled in the beautiful South Pacific, Vanuatu is a country rich in culture and community, but also in great need of the message of redemption that only Christ can provide. Our mission is simple: to reach the overlooked, the outcast, and the forgotten, sharing with them the life-changing power of the gospel.
Our Beginning
Chains to Life Ministries was founded in 2018 with a clear calling: to minister to those society often overlooks—specifically, the inmates of Port Vila’s prisons. From low to high-risk facilities, we began by sharing the gospel, teaching, and building relationships with these men. What became apparent early on was that these individuals weren’t just prisoners; they were men made in the image of God, in need of the same grace, mercy, and hope as anyone else.
Many of these men came into prison with no sense of purpose, but through fellowship and the power of the gospel, lives began to transform. What started as a prison ministry has grown into a broader mission, touching lives both inside and outside the walls of the prison system.
Beyond the Prisons
As the ministry expanded, so did our reach. We began connecting with young men outside the prisons in some of the toughest areas of Port Vila, many of whom were struggling with unemployment, alcohol abuse, and violence. By building relationships and sharing the gospel, we’ve been blessed to witness God’s transformative power in their lives. These young men, once caught in cycles of violence and despair, are now becoming men of faith, love, and integrity—living testimonies of the gospel’s ability to change hearts.
Partnering with Mama Lily
One of the cornerstones of our ministry is our partnership with Mama Lily, a dedicated servant of God who operates a small church and safe house in a challenging neighbourhood known as "21 Jump Street." Mama Lily provides refuge to women and children escaping abusive situations, offering them the safety, care, and hope they desperately need. Together, we are working to restore lives—bringing the light of Christ into some of the darkest corners of Vanuatu.
Reaching the Rural Communities: Teoma Bush

In 2024, Chains to Life Ministries was given the opportunity to expand beyond the urban areas into Teoma Bush, a remote community 18 miles outside of Port Vila. This rural village, like many others in Vanuatu, faces significant challenges: no electricity, no running water, and limited access to medical care. Despite these hardships, the community is full of resilient, faith-filled people, and we are blessed to serve them.
Through these missions, we connected with Albert, a man who had been bedridden for over a decade. By providing him with essentials like a bed, a wheelchair, and solar-powered lighting, we were able to not only improve his quality of life but also extend our ministry into this community. Each week, we travel to Teoma, bringing food, medical supplies, and—most importantly—the gospel. Our long-term goal is to plant a church in Teoma and create discipleship and leadership programs that will equip the people to spread the gospel further into the bush.
What We Do
Our mission is both spiritual and practical. We share the gospel through Bible studies, leadership programs, and outreach initiatives, while also providing practical support such as food, medical supplies, and basic necessities. We believe in addressing both the spiritual and physical needs of the communities we serve, and our work is driven by a deep commitment to showing the love of Christ in every way possible.
