Short-term missions are characterized by thorough preparation and training in theology, cross-cultural sensitivity, and practical skills; an emphasis on humility and servanthood by learning from local communities; a focus on long-term impact and sustainable development; accountability and evaluation to ensure alignment with biblical principles; and integration with local ministries to support and strengthen existing initiatives.
Characteristics of Short-term Missions:
Short-term missions are characterized by thorough preparation and training in theology, cross-cultural sensitivity, and practical skills; an emphasis on humility and servanthood by learning from local communities; a focus on long-term impact and sustainable development; accountability and evaluation to ensure alignment with biblical principles; and integration with local ministries to support and strengthen existing initiatives.
Activities:
Short-term mission trips involve a variety of impactful activities designed to serve and connect with the local community. These include community service projects such as building homes, schools, and churches, organizing medical or dental clinics, teaching English or vocational skills, and running programs for children. Evangelism plays a key role, with opportunities to proclaim the Gospel, participate in worship services, and organize outreach events. Additionally, cultural exchange is an important aspect, offering participants the chance to learn about local traditions, interact with community members, and foster mutual understanding.
Accommodation Options:
Participants can choose from different accommodation styles based on their comfort and preferences. Rural camping provides an immersive experience in the local culture, featuring traditional cuisine and rustic living conditions, such as bucket showers and bush toilets. For those who prefer alternative arrangements, other accommodation options are available to suit varying needs.
Logistics:
Mission teams are initially limited to 10 people to ensure a focused, well-prepared group that can make a meaningful contribution to the community. This structure prioritises impactful, organised efforts that address specific local needs while fostering strong team dynamics.

Reliable transportation is essential for mobility within Vanuatu, especially in rural or remote areas where roads may be rough or infrastructure limited. We would need a 4x4 truck/pick-up/Ute at an estimated cost for the cheapest and most reliable would be approximately US$30 000.
Goal: 150,000vt monthly
Resources for teaching and discipleship, such as Bibles, study materials, teaching aids, and possibly access to training programs for local church leaders and members.
Plus acccess to communication tools such as mobile phones, laptops/iPads and internet access for staying connected with supporters, sending reports, and maintaining contact with our covering Church (Redeemer Bible Church).
Goal: 3,000vt per box
We regularly journey to Teoma Bush, a remote area in Efate, to deliver essential medical supplies like painkillers, antiseptics, and bandages—basic healthcare items that are hard to come by in this community. These missions are about more than just meeting urgent medical needs; they’re an opportunity to build meaningful relationships and share the love of Christ.
Pray for our team to reach the lost with the Gospel message of Christ and for doors to open for us to be able to do what God has called us to do.
These needs and resources are crucial for us to establish a sustainable presence, effectively carry out our mission, and build long-term relationships within the community we serve.
