Just outside the hustle and bustle of Port Vila lies a beautiful, raw, and often forgotten place called Teoma Bush. It’s quiet, rugged, and full of people with open hearts. Over the past months, Chains to Life Ministries has been steadily planting seeds in this community—through friendship, Gospel conversations, practical care, and consistent presence.

What started as a visit has turned into something much deeper. And now, God is growing a vision in Teoma Bush.

A Kitchen with a Bigger Purpose

One of the first practical projects we've committed to is helping Albert finish building his kitchen. This might seem like a small thing, but it’s actually a key part of the bigger picture. Albert has been a faithful presence in the community—serving others, walking with us in ministry, and helping us connect with the people.

His kitchen will serve not just his family, but also become a place where meals can be shared, visitors can be welcomed, and stories can be told. For us, it’s a step toward community-based ministry—serving and loving people in a real, tangible way.

And we’re almost there. A few more materials, a few more hands, and we’ll have it ready. One kitchen—many possibilities.

The Vision for the Teaching House

Right next to Albert’s kitchen, we’re planning something we’re calling “The Teaching House.” It will be a simple structure—nothing fancy, but filled with purpose. This will be the place where we:

  • Teach God’s Word to men, women, youth, and children.
  • Eat together after lessons and Bible studies.
  • Pray, fellowship, and walk alongside people as they grow in their faith.
  • Train future leaders in the community who will one day disciple others.

It will start with basic teaching and meals. Over time, it will become a place of worship, growth, and Gospel-centered transformation. We envision a community gathering not around us, but around the Word of God.

Building Relationships with the Men

One of the biggest blessings in Teoma Bush has been the growing connection with the local men. Through regular visits, meals, conversations, and work projects, trust is building. And with that trust, hearts are opening.

Many of these men have never had anyone consistently show up for them. No big promises. No flashy programs. Just people who show up with the Gospel, with a listening ear, and with a willingness to serve.

We are praying that through these relationships, God will raise up men of peace—leaders in their families and the community, who will be transformed by the Gospel and help shape the future of Teoma Bush from the inside out.

What’s Happening Weekly

  • Clothing and supply distributions to families in need.
  • Fellowship and food, often shared outdoors or under a tree.
  • Prayer and encouragement, as we walk and talk with locals.
  • Wound care clinics, thanks to the Medical Box Initiative and our faithful partners.
  • Bible teaching and conversations, always pointing to Christ.

Each visit is an opportunity to build deeper relationships and remind the community that they are not forgotten—by us, and more importantly, by God.

Looking Ahead

We are committed to Teoma Bush for the long haul. Here's what’s coming next:

  • Complete Albert’s kitchen – We’re nearly done!
  • Begin building the Teaching House – A place for meals, learning, and Gospel teaching.
  • Strengthen discipleship efforts – Especially with the men.
  • Prepare for hosting short-term missionaries – Starting in tents, experiencing the real Vanuatu.
  • Lay the foundation for a future church plant, as the Lord opens doors.

How You Can Help

Pray – for strong relationships, for hearts to be opened to Christ, and for wisdom as we take each step.

Give – to help us finish the kitchen and begin building the Teaching House. Donate Here

Spread the word – Share this story with others who might want to partner with us in this mission field.

We’re not building buildings—we’re building trust, relationships, and a place where the Gospel can take root and grow deep.

Thank you for standing with us as we walk humbly, serve faithfully, and preach boldly in Teoma Bush.

To the glory of God,

Bobby Smith
